Reviews and comments written for the Woodleigh RNSN bullet.

Two friends of mine used the 570 grains Soft from Woodleigh loaded into the .500 NE on a recent hunt in south-africa. They took 4 warthogs, 1 kudu and 1 impala on that hunting trip. Although this bullet seemed a great and instant killer in overall view, I was very surprised that there were 3 bullets that didn´t penetrate completely due to the diagonally lined shots (2 warthogs and the kudu). The recovered bullets showed nearly 1,5 inches in diameter, whereas the heaviest of them showed only 65 % remaining weight. The load was not too fast (about 2.050 ft/sec) to overstress the bullet by velocity! The people at woodleigh replied our questions with a sour "....it killed the animals - so what?..." ; Now, what would have been, if there would have been a shot onto a buffalo.....???

I found this bullet to be the best for Moose in 9,3 cal. It has very little meat damage and kills very fast. It penetrates all the way through from all angels, leaving the bullet in the hide on the far side (depends on the load though) Another considerable advantage is that the bulllet does not break up, or change course easily, if a tvig or something similar, is accidentially hit, before it reaches its target, making it a VERY dependable bullet also when hunting in woods.
