Reviews and comments written for the Winchester Silvertip bullet.

I bought a browning bar 270 used and was given two boxes of 130 grain Winchester silver tips To go with it. I have killed a coyote and a doe with these bullets. The results have been devastating on both animals leaving an exit hole about the size of my fist.

I shot a cow elk broadside in western Montana with the 150 grain Silvertip in .30-06. The bullet expanded perfectly and the cow made it about 10-15 yards. I have taken many 4 large bodied Mule deer with the same bullet and all have been pass through shots (unfortunately one was a pass through on the rump). I have never had great accuracy at the range with this bullet but I am shooting a cheap factory Remington 700 with a trigger pull of around 350 lbs so I am not sure that it is the ammunition. I would absolutely recommend this bullet.
