Reviews and comments written for the Berger flat base match varmint bullet.

I just wanted to add the flat base berger bullets are the most accurate starting point for any rifle. These bullets are consistent in weight,I would also like to add, people that shoot under 750 yards need to look at flat base bullets. All flat base bullets shoot well in all of my rifles. It seems to me the more complex the design the more difficult it is to get a load developed and get them to shoot well,my friends also note the performance of flat base bullets, like the berger, shoot well in there rifles. You really dont see any difference in performance inside of 750 yards, beyond that I do think long boatail designs are a benefit.

I purchased a new remington 700 sps varmint in 22-250.I started with hodgdon varget powder 36.5 grains and berger 50 grain flat base bullets, seated touching the lands, cci 200lr primer, prvi brass. The first group I shot was .228 inches ,3 shots at 100yards.All groups thereafter are inside a 1/4 inch. This rifle is brand new and its only going to get better. So far i havent seen many people posting 1/4 inch groups on this site.I think they need to look at purchasing a remington 700.I also have a remington 700 long range tactical xcr,it will place 3 shots in a 1/4 inch if i do my part.My gunsmith friends and all the rifleman i know ,this is the same opinion of them as well.We have owned them all.buy remington.thanks.
