In the .223 I have not been happy with the expansion on ground squirrels. I suspect the bullet does not have enough velocity to give explosive results. In the 22-250 it is adequate.

The Varmint Grenade Bullets are long for weight and therefore can be loaded right to the lands in my 223 Rem w 36 grainers (2.20") and .243 Win w 62 grainers (2.68") for excellent accuracy. Lower than Ballistic Tip B.C. does not bother me as I have not shot anything over 200 yards lately. They are instintanious death on everything I have hit with them.

I was excited to try these out on our sage rat trip this spring. I have to say the concept of a highly frangible bullet makes sense. In the field, though, a 26 gr hollow point bullet is just not as accurate as the 32 gr ballistic tips, especially past 300 yards with any wind. The ballistic tips also give equal terminal effect on critters this small.
