The .358 JDJ was designed by J.D. Jones in 1978. It is based on the 444 Marlin case, necked down to .358 caliber. It was intended to give added range and power for the Thompson/Center Contender Pistol. The 358 JDJ offers muzzle velocities similar to the 375 Winchester (rifle loads) with bullet of equal weight.
