Depends on whether you are shooting 80 to 150 lb blacktail or a 250+ lb mule or whitetail. Also make sure the bullet you choose is constructed for penetration. I'm sure you can do it but those old 150's sure do a good job in a 30-06.
Hi Don....I was thinking along the same lines for my .308 this upcoming season, but will probably opt for a 150 grainer of some sort...
I think the Barnes 130 grain TSX atop a hefty charge of IMR4350 will give you well over 3,000 fps at the muzzle, and will still hold together and penetrate very well as the TSX is known to do...
Thanks, I was thinking of the TSX.. Just kind of bored experimenting with some of these. I do feel a 30 caliber 270 would do the job, HaHa. Of course I could shoot the Accubond 150's.............Hmmm. D-451

I watched my Cousin put a Sierra 125 grain Spitzer broadside through both shoulders of a Fork Horn Mulely at less than 50 yards with a .300 Win Mag at 3,500 fps MV. I would not believe it if I did not see it myself.
