Csparks1106 asked me to post his picture of his group he recently shot in his .300 Savage. Also he sent me this PM.

Here's the info from my chronograph. I can't seem to get a picture copied of the target but it was a cloverleaf at 100 yards.

We want to see pics of your rifle, your loads, your casting methods, and your loading procedure.

Thanks Shasta for posting that for me. I'll work on getting those other pictures posted up today.
As far as the reloads, they are all Winchester cases. Not necessarily from the same lot, but I did separate out all the other brands.
Winchester large rifle primers.
The bullet is a Lee C312-185-1R tumble lubed with a Hornady copper gas check. They were cast using a Lee 20# bottom pour pot. The lead is from Rotometals and is their Lyman #2 blend.
That particular load was 21.5 grains of Alliant 2400. I loaded 4 different charges starting at 20 grains and increasing in .5 grain increments. All of my rifle loads are trickled up to charge weight using an RCBS beam scale. I'm not out in my shop so I'm not 100% positive but I think overall length is 2.530". My press is an RCBS Rock Chucker.
Needless to say I am very pleased with the results. I had been using Hodgdon H335 with what I thought were excellent results. I was getting approximately 1.25" groups. Shasta suggested I try 2400. I'm glad he did. Thanks again.

I've never tricked H335 or 2400. They meter pretty good in My Lyman 55.

Tumble lubed? In Lee Liquid Alox? How are you sizing? What size? Is your rifle a Savage 99? What dies? How are you belling the neck?

Well, I may not have it figured out. I can't seem to copy and paste all of the image link of the rifle itself. I'm trying both of the suggested image sharing websites. The imgur seems like it would be easier to use except I'm not getting the options that are mentioned. Hmmm?

Shasta, they are tumbled in a Lee ALOX blend recipe that I was given by Onandaga, I believe. I don't remember the formula but I'll bet Gary has it. Seems like it has mineral spirits in it.
They are sized with a Lee .311 sizing die. The mouth is belled with a Lee universal neck expanding die. I am using RCBS full length sizing dies.
The rifle is a model 99. It was my dads. He's been gone since '97. As far as I know, he bought it new, not sure when though. It has always been my favorite.

Yep, I was doing it from my Ipad at home. I don't have a PC or laptop at home. I had to come to work to do it.

Shasta, thank you. I like to think you're right. Who knows, it may have been his calm that helped pull the trigger. But I agree, he would be proud.

Ethmoid, I appreciate that. This is my first experience with cast bullets in a rifle. I've been casting handgun bullets for awhile now but no rifle until now. I'm really excited about this.
