Try the 95 gr Nosler ballistic tip with a charge from 38.5 to 42.5 grains of Reloader 22 seated to an o.a.l. of 2.710 inches. This is from Nosler #4 manual. I shoot the 42.5 which nosler says is the load for accuracy. shoots 1/2 inch at 100yds in any 243 I have ever shot it in.

I have the exact gun and load for it. I use 39.5gr of h4350 under 100gr Interlock. With the 100gr SIE Prohunter I found 38.5gr more accurate. Accurate 4064 is also a good powder to use. I definitely recommend a 90 - 100gr bullet for deer at close range. You can lighten the charges considering he's young and only taking 50yd shots. So you shouldn't have too bad of a time to make a load for him.

Here's a video on my CVA Scout 243

That should do on a close range deer. Shot placement will more critical with a light load.
