I got 100 pieces of brass from graf for my 9.3x62 and I found the capacity is less than others.Cut one open and the web is like old military brass, super thick.Anyone else found this,I heard prvi partizan makes graf brass,so I sectioned a 22 hornet prvi case and it was also very heavy.

Hey Brian,

Is the headstamp "Graf" and did you order from Graf & Sons? The reason I ask, I've seen several threads on other reloading forums that mention Graf brass is made by either PRVI or Jamison. I've compared the prices, and looks to be a bargain. Are you getting compressed loads because of the capacity? If so, you may want to try the Norma. Yes, it's expensive, but I've found Norma and Lapua brass to have higher capacities than other types of brass. Graf & Sons also has 20 count of the Norma in 9.3x62 for around $25, so it wouldn't be a huge expense to try.

Stay safe...shoot straight

Hey ten2six,yea I got the brass from graf and it is stamped graf.I also did read that graf brass was made by prvi.I cant find anything to confirm this though. The brass is very heavy,I sectioned one,and the head compares to old 30 govt brass I have from the 40's.I'm not one to have to get every last fps or flatten primers,I get the most
accurate one and stop.

Ditto, I usually start in the low to middle range of reloading data, and find the velocity my gun/barrel likes. I believe you get more accuracy finding the sweet spot your gun likes that is closest to the calculated bullet stability velocity, than by trying to wring out every extra foot per second. If I need more speed, I look to other calibers. ;)

I don't mind working with heavy brass, either. It's a little tougher to load, but as long as you're not working with different types, makes, manufacturers, etc...at the same time, it all part of the process. So how does the 9.3x62 shoot? I've never shot that caliber so I'm interested in what you've seen.

IME, companies don't want to be associated with a product that isn't theirs...so if you contact PRVI and they disassociate themselves from the Grafs brass, then likely it isn't theirs. But IME also companies which build for other people don't mind the word getting out that someone else is having them build a product for them.

Grafs should have no problem letting you know that certain brass is built by one maker or another.

One other thing...with the location of Grafs in relation to Starline, I wouldn't be surprised if the brass is of Starline mfg. Especially since Starline likes the odd and obsolete. See if your brass has a little star on the head stamp. Just curious. I remember that Starline once made a run of brass for Freedom Arms, and the headstamp was labeled as Freedom Arms, but the brass still retained the little star stamp.

Ok guys, first the brass is made by prvi,at least the guy at graf said it is.It is some really heavy well made, consistent brass.I really was surprised when I bought it.The price was right, and once I got it,the quality was excellent.I would recommend the brass to anyone.the 9.3 I have is a cz 550 american, and I love it,recoil is roughly about like a heavy loaded 3006.That is my personal opinion

The General Manager and head buyer are both long time friends of mine. My company is a Graf's Vendor.
PRVI manufactures the great majority of the brass stocked and stamped Graf & Sons.
